Michael "Mike" D. Mulligan's Obituary
Michael “Mike” David Mulligan, 67, of Oreana, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2019, in his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Mike was born July 4, 1951, in Decatur, to Edward James and Betty Frances (White) Mulligan. He proudly served in the United States Army. He was a retired carpenter for Local Union 270. He married Rose Jean Davis on April 27, 1989 in Las Vegas, NV. Mike enjoyed bowling on a league, working out at the YMCA, watching NASCAR, walking his furry companion, Maverick and woodworking, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Rose; his two daughters, Shilo (Jeremy) Jones of Cedar Rapids, IA and Megan McWilliams of Cerro Gordo, IL; two step children, Michele (Sarah Hagan) White of Forsyth, IL and Mark Thornton of Mattoon, IL; his step-mother, Dee Mulligan of Peru, IN; ten grandchildren, Katlin, Tanner, Reann, Dylan, Payton, Laurdyn, Faith, Nicole, Devynn and Carter; one great-grandchild, Parker; three brothers, Tom (Cathy) Mulligan of Decatur, IL, James (Mary) Mulligan of Bloomington, IL, Richard (Yvonne) Mulligan of Decatur, IL; two sisters, Barb (Joe) Mulcahy of Bloomington, IL and Carol (Chris) Zalinski of Niles, IL; seven step-siblings; and his furry companion, Maverick.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Michael Mulligan will be 12 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Wednesday before the services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Local Union 270 Hall 211 W. Lawrence Ave, Springfield, IL 62704.
