Michael D. Frank's Obituary
Michael Dwaine Frank, 75, passed away on Monday, November 10, 2025, in Springfield, IL. Michael was born on July 29, 1950, the son of Samuel Frank, Jr., and Mary Adeline (Colborn) Frank.
Michael graduated from MacArthur High School and worked as a boilermaker, welder, and pipefitter. He was an avid pool player with the American Pool Players Association, a Chicago Cubs fan, and a St. Louis Cardinals tolerator. Michael was known as a connoisseur of beer, wine, Crown Royal.
Michael is survived by his son, James (Fiancée, Misty Hammer) Frank of Decatur, IL; Brother, George Frank of Harristown, IL; sister Marcie (Dennis) Skelton of Cerro Gordo, IL; significant other, Joann “Jo” Curtis of Forsyth, IL; Nieces, Katie Lobano (Frank) and Leilani Muhr; grandchildren, Donovan James Frank, Hayli Brianne (Samuel) Fielden, and Gunner Wayne Frank; two great-grandchildren, Ryker and Brynlee Fielden; and many cousins from Southern Illinois that adored him and he visited regularly.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Jennifer Nicole Frank; and ex-wife, Christine Torry.
A private family graveside service for Michael will be held at Graceland Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, December 6, 2025, at the Sundown Lounge, 2998 N. 22nd St, Decatur, IL 62526.
