Michael L. Rusk, 67, of Decatur, passed away Friday, July 7, 2017, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, with his family by his side. Michael was born February 8, 1950, in Decatur, to Loren V. and Marian L. (Grove) Rusk. He graduated from Read Obituary
Mr Rusk was such a great teacher and a heart of gold so sorry to see he passed.
We were so sorry to hear of Mike's passing. Our son, Nicholson, had the privilege of being a student of Mike's. Nick was also coached by Mike for the four years he played on the Eisenhower golf team, including the 2000 4th place finish in State. Nick learned a lot from Mike in and out of the classroom as well as on and off the golf course. We know many other students and parents share our feelings of thanks and sympathy. I am saddened to learn of Mr. Rusk's passing. He was my golf coach at Lakeview High School from 1978-1981. I have many fond memories of those years. Mike was a positive influence on all of his golfers. May God bless his family during this difficult time.Steve Hunk

Lit a candle in memory of Michael L Rusk
I was a student in Mr. Rusk's AP History classes and he was very influential figure in my education. Going on a Closeup trip to Washington D.C. with Mr. Rusk instilled in me a much stronger interest in civics and led me to much more carefully consider my political ideals. He was a great role model and has helped inspire me to go into teaching as well.
