Michael Mullinax's Obituary
Decatur- Michael Mullinax, 61, of Decatur, passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2015 in St. Mary’s Hospital.
Yeshua, in his mercy, saw that Michael needed to break free from the chains of disease and chose to bring him home.
There isn’t a need for long words and earthly accomplishments because they are as nothing, only Michael’s walk with the Lord was all that mattered.
Michael the man, the husband, the father of Faith, Josh, Dan and Ben is safely home with his heavenly father and living the time of his life.
Michael was born September 11, 1954 in, Decatur, IL, the son of Cletus L. and Wilma R. (Stewart) Mullinax. He was employed with Gerdau Ameristeel as an estimator and salesman for over twenty-five years. Michael was a member of Maranatha Assembly of God. He enjoyed reading, gardening, fishing, and most of all, spending time with his family. He married Dawn Haynes on May 5, 1993 in Decatur, IL.
He leaves behind his wife, Dawn Mullinax of Macon; mother, Wilma Mullinax of Decatur; daughter, Faith Mullinax of Macon; three sons, Josh (Amanda) Haynes of Bloomington, Dan (Brooke) Haynes of St. Louis, Ben Haynes of Decatur; sisters, Karen (Gary) Bachman of Mt. Zion, Shari Mullinax of Decatur; grandchildren, Owen, Landon, and Tyler; special niece, Tricia and special nephews, Sean, Josh, and Matt.
He was preceded in death by his father, Cletus Mullinax, brother, Tom Mullinax, sister, Suzanne Whicker, and faithful canine, Hansel.
Services to celebrate Michael’s life will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Maranatha Assembly of God, 555 W. Imboden Drive, Decatur. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are suggested to The Voice Of The Martyrs.
