His neighbors fondly remember him as the heart of the block—always hosting gatherings where everyone felt welcome. His home was often filled with laughter, music, and the warmth of community.
Outside of work and neighborhood camaraderie, Michael found joy in simple pleasures. He loved spending time with family, watching movies, tending to his yard with care, and working on his vehicles. He especially love spending time with his son, who he was very proud of. These hobbies reflected both his appreciation for quiet moments and his knack for fixing things—qualities that endeared him to those around him.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation will take place with no public services to be held.
Michael is survived by his son, Jeremy of Decatur; his brother, John (Trudi) of South Carolina; sisters, Cathy of Tennessee and Susan of Florida; as well as many nieces and nephews who will carry forward memories of his kindness and generosity.
