Mike Nicoson's Obituary
Dennis Michael “Mike” Nicoson, 72, of Decatur, passed away on April 26, 2019 at Decatur Memorial Hospital. He was born on October 14, 1946 in Terre Haute, Indiana, the son of Max and Virginia Haney Nicoson. He married Lori Baker on March 12, 1988 in Decatur. She survives.
Mike was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam era. He was a longtime district manager of K’s Merchandise.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Bryon Nicoson of Normal; and Erik (Yesenia “Jessie”) Nicoson of Bloomington; a daughter, Denin (Greg) Bloom of Corona Del Mar, California; and three grandchildren, Gavin, Aidan, and Ethan Nicoson. He is also survived by two sisters, Paula Gallion and Cinda (Eddie) Summa, both of Indiana.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Cheryl Gambrel.
Cremation services will be provided by Graceland/Fairlawn Cremation Center in Decatur. Per his wishes, no services will be held at this time. Private burial of his ashes will take place at a later date at Camp Butler Cemetery in Springfield.
