Mildred E. Baldwin's Obituary
Decatur-Mildred E. Sigmon Baldwin, 98, of Decatur, passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Vonderlieth Living Center in Mt. Pulaski with her family by her side.
Mildred was born April 1, 1919 in Arcola, Illinois, the daughter of Claude and Edith (Mowery) Lawrence. She worked as a cook with St. Mary’s Hospital retiring after eighteen years of service. Mildred was a member of West Decatur Church of God. She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed playing bingo and other games. Mildred married Harold Sigmon in 1931. She then married David Baldwin in 1969.
Mildred is survived by her children Marilyn (Raymond) Flannigan, Donald (Marie) Sigmon, William (Judy) Sigmon, Nancy Embrey, Joyce Duffer, Pattie (Gayle) Cyrulik, and Dan (Kathy) Sigmon, sister Juanita Phegley, and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, sisters Helen Britton and Lois Scheib, and grandson Billy Duffer.
Services to celebrate Mildred’s life will be 11:00 AM Monday, July 10, 2017 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10-11 AM prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to West Decatur Church of God.
