Mildred Lucille Ewing's Obituary
Mildred Lucille Ewing, 94, of Decatur, passed away Sunday, September 5, 2021 at HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital.
Mildred was born in Decatur on December 21, 1926, the daughter of Arvel and Cecil (Dillon) Conover. She had several occupations during her life, including working in a sewing factory, as a cook, and as a caretaker for the elderly. Mildred enjoyed embroidery, sewing, and crossword puzzles in her spare time. She was a member of Second Church of God in Decatur. She married John Joseph Ewing on January 1, 1950. He preceded her in death in 1983.
Mildred is survived by her sons Robert E (Sharon) Ewing of Mt. Zion and Johnny S. Ewing of Decatur; daughters Theresa (Richard) Downing of Bakersfield, CA and Vivian Mose of Decatur; brother Mike Conover; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, daughter Mildred K. Stanley, one brother, and one sister.
Funeral services for Mildred will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday (September 11, 2021) at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM on Saturday (September 11, 2021) at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery.
