Decatur-Mildred Juanita Fitton, 77, of Scottsboro, Alabama, formerly of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, May 05, 2009 in Scottsboro.
Services to celebrate Mildred’s life will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 8, 2009 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 2009 at the funeral home. Interment with “Flight Home” Ceremony will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer Association or the Northeast Community Fund. Mildred was born November 8, 1931 in Lebanon, Tennessee the youngest of twelve children to Joseph and Hattie (Smith) Dillard. She was a cook for the state of Illinois at the Adolph Meyer Zone Center retiring after thirty years of service. She was an avid gardener. She raised and sold tomatoes for over twenty years. She married William Clarence Fitton July 4, 1953 in Lebanon, Tennessee. He preceded her in death on February 2, 1997.
She leaves behind sons; Robert K. DeArmond of Decatur and Edward D. Fitton and wife Debbie of Oakley, daughters; Billie Marie Grant and husband Max of Decatur and Pat DeArmond of Dutton, Alabama, step-son; Robert Fitton and wife Shirley of Heyworth, grandchildren; Eric Grant, Rick and Randy Renfro, and Amanda Dillon, step-grandchildren; Terry Fitton and wife Kathy and Gary Fitton and wife Candy, and great-grandchildren; Gage Renfro,, Kaitlyn Orzechowski, and Emily and Molly Dillon.
She was reunited in heaven with her parents, husband, her brothers and her sisters.
