Mildred "Millie" L. Dreasher's Obituary
Decatur- Mildred “Millie” L. Dreasher, 94, of Decatur, died July 28, 2013 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
She was born January 15, 1919 to William Oscar and Mable (Wright) Pier of Decatur. She graduated from the original Stephen Decatur High School.
Through the years Mildred enjoyed knitting, traveling, reading and watching sports events on T.V. She had a fun sense of humor, made friends easily and enjoyed the company of family and friends.
Mildred is survived by her sisters Mary Ann (Keith) Andrews of Phoenix, AZ; Nancy (Don) Simroth of Charlottesville, VA; Pat Bell of Arvada, CO; Jane Gaffron of Decatur, IL; and many nieces and nephews throughout the country. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents William Oscar and Mable Pier of Decatur, two brothers and four sisters.
The family would like to thank the staff at Heartland of Decatur, Decatur Memorial Hospital and Hospice Nurses for their care.
A Celebration of Mildred’s life will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, August 10, 2013 in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with Rev. Sig Bjorklund of Grace United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Easter Seals or the donor’s choice.
