Mildred Schnuckel's Obituary
Decatur -Mildred Schnuckel, 100, of Decatur passed away at 3:00 am Thursday, January 12, 2012 in Fair Havens Christian Home.
Mildred was born September 12, 1911 in Harvey, IL the daughter of Anna and Thomas Wood. She married Chester Schnuckel on October 20, 1934. Mil and Chet lived in Harvey and in Janesville, WI for much of their married life until Mildred moved to Decatur in 2009. Her husband, Chet preceded her in death in 1998. She is survived by her sister, Adeline Psioda; her niece and nephew-in-law, Donna and Harold Dausman and family; her niece, Shirley Sander and family; as well as relatives from the Schnuckel family. Counting nieces, nephews, and great and great-greats, she leaves more than 100 people whose lives she touched just in her family. Her strong Catholic faith stands as a testament to all of them.
A Vigil Prayer service will be at 6:00 pm Friday, January 13, 2012 followed by a Visitation from 6:00 ' 8:00 pm in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will also be 10 -11:00 am Saturday, January 14, 2012 in St. Patrick Catholic Church followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am Saturday with Rev. John Burnette as Celebrant. Entombment will be in Mt. Olivet Mausoleum in Janesville, WI at a later date with her husband. Memorials are suggested to Saints James and Patrick Parish.
