Molly Ann Schroat's Obituary
Decatur – Molly Ann Schroat, 55, of Decatur, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2024, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Molly was born on May 10, 1969, in Arlington Heights, IL, the daughter of Mike and Cindy Smith. A member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, she worked as a pharmacy tech at CVS and loved art and pottery. Molly married Brian E. Schroat on August 21, 1993, in Decatur, IL, and he preceded her in death on April 11, 2016.
Surviving are her children: Lydia Schroat (fiancé, Calin Shonkwiler) and Foster Schroat of Decatur; parents Mike and Cindy Smith of Decatur; siblings: Elisabeth (Frank) Houston of Springfield and Michael (Rachel) Smith of WI; mother-in-law, Gail (Jim) Foster of Decatur; father-in-law, Everett (Linda) Schroat of Dalton City; sisters-in-law: Lisa Schroat (Robert) Hanks of Vandalia, and Amy Lichtenberger of Harristown; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 21, 2024, from 10am until the service time of 11am at the Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Macon County Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial my be made to the Macon County Animal Shelter.
