My'Launi Denise Marie Burden's Obituary
My’Launi Denise Marie Burden, our precious daughter, was welcomed into this world on December 10, 2024, at 1:09 a.m. at DePaul Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
My’Launi liked Minnie Mouse, Yo Gabba Gabba, Bluey, and Barney and especially loved to snuggle with her mommy and daddy. She would often take long naps, cuddled up with her daddy. Fatty, as she was affectionately called, had many friends at daycare, enjoyed dressing up as the diva she was, and loved her swing and listening to music. In December, she celebrated her first birthday at Chuck E. Cheese with her friends and family. My’Launi celebrated this past Thanksgiving by having her first taste of sweet potatoes and her TT TeAra’s banana pudding. Launi liked to dance with Uncle Stink and enjoyed watching her favorite shows with her GiGi. In Launi’s beautiful 393 days of life she filled our days with immeasurable joy, wonder, and love. Her gentle spirit touched everyone she encountered. She brought light and laughter into our home with every tender moment we were blessed to share and will be loved and remembered forever.
My’Launi was the treasured daughter of Terrianna Smith and Mysean Burden. She left behind many other family members including grandparents: Terry Scarbrough (GiGi), Tyler Smith (PaPa), Latoya Burden (Ganny), and Letha Smith (MiMi); great grandparents Pamela Burden, Angelina Smith, Martin Pratt, and Gregory Griffin; great great grandpa James West; aunts Shaniyah (Auntie Niyah), TeAra (TT), Tykeria (Booskie), Tatiana (Tati), Ta’Asia (Godmom), Lyric (Rere), and Tylina (Beanbean); uncles Kobe (Uncle Wolf), Jalen, Le’Teryon, Suvon, Montraevion, Martreal, Marquan (Uncle Stink), Tyler Jr., and Braxten. My’Launi passed away far too soon, on January 7, 2026. She is preceded in death by great grandparents Catherine Scarbrough and Mary Pratt (Ohma), great great grandparents Arthur Burden, and Odie Grace Burden, and cousins Kendra Burden, Desi Scarbrough, and Noah Edwards.
Visitation will take place at Graceland Fairlawn on Wednesday, January 21st from 10-11 a.m., with services to follow. The family has asked that attendees wear formal attire and encourage the colors white and light pink.
