Myron E. Sutherd's Obituary
Decatur-Myron “Skip” Sutherd, age 79 of Decatur, passed away Friday, May 13, 2011 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
A graveside service to celebrate the life of Skip will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 23, 2011 at Macon County Memorial Park with Military Rites and “Flight Home” ceremony to conclude the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Skip was born August 30, 1931 in Virginia, Illinois the son of Russell and Iris (Lyons) Sutherd. Skip proudly served his country in the US Air Force. He married Florence Garrison in Taylorville, Illinois on August 25, 1962. She preceded him in death in 1995.
He leaves behind his daughter, Joanne Travis and husband Charles of Decatur, son, John Comiskey of Decatur, sister, Beverly Brockman and husband L.C of Pleasant Plaines, grandchildren, Cheryl, William, Tom, and Jodee, many great-grandchild, and nieces and nephews, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.
