Nancy Sue Buechler's Obituary
Nancy Sue Kiser Buechler, 89, of Decatur, passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2024.
Nancy was born on July 18, 1935, at St. Mary's Hospital in Decatur. She was a daughter of the late Harve Alexander Kiser and Susie Belle Kenward Kiser. She married Jerry Buechler on July 15, 1955, and spent the next 69 years enjoying his company, raising their family, and seeing the world.
She loved to keep busy and work with her hands. Whether it was cross-stitch, crafting, raising her orchids, or serving in various community outreach projects with the other ladies of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.
While her health had been difficult in recent years, Nancy’s greatest joy was spending time with her family. She loved to spend time with her granddaughters and took on the role of grandmother to anyone else who would let her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one son, Jeffrey Buechler; and four siblings, John Kiser, Bob Kiser, Helen Sebree, and Betty Inman.
Alongside her husband, she is survived by: one son, Robert Buechler and wife Kelly; and two granddaughters, Sierra Hollinden and husband Eric, Sydney Buechler and fiancé Creighton Delgado.
Visitation for Nancy Buechler will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Elwin United Methodist Church, 1260 W Elwin Rd, Elwin, IL 62532. A celebration of life will begin at 12:00 p.m., with reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Elwin United Methodist Church.
