Nancy Lou Cooper's Obituary
Nancy Lou Cooper, 65, of Decatur, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2018, after a hard fought battle with cancer, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, surrounded by her loving family.
Nancy was born October 24, 1952, in Centralia, IL, to Ray and Dorothy (Redferin) Huggins. She worked at the Winery in Decatur for 30 years. Nancy loved to read and was a big supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, but most of all, she loved spending time with her youngest grandson, Caleb.
She is survived by her two children, Susan Berg and James Cooper both of Decatur; her three grandchildren, Austin James Cooper, Dylan James Cooper and Caleb Elijah Berg; her brother, Mike (Dee) Huggins of Centralia, IL; and her sister, Carol (Keith) Peterson, of Seattle, WA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Chuck, Larry, Donnie and Jimmy Huggins; and her sister, Mary Ann Warren.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Sobol, Dr. Velasco, Dr, Yoon, Dr, Cochran, Dr. Shetty and the 7th floor ICU nurses, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL.
Honoring Nancy Cooper’s wishes, cremation services will be provided by the Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 2091 N. Oakland Ave. Decatur, IL. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Land of Lincoln Credit Union, in care of Susan Berg, in memory of Nancy Cooper.
