Nancy Kay Hollgarth's Obituary
Nancy Kay (Howard) Hollgarth affectionately known as "Fancy Nancy", 84 of Macon took her final flight on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Nancy was born on February 19, 1941, in Decatur 11, the daughter of Ralph F. Howard and Della G. (O'Laughlin) Howard. Nancy married Jackie Lee Hollgarth on June 28th, 1969, in Decatur II. Throughout her life Nancy worked many places eventually retiring from P&G in Macon after 15 years of dedicated service. Nancy was a woman of great faith and a member of the First Baptist Church in Macon where she developed a special relationship with pastor Ed and the entire church family. She was also a member of the Macon Stiches for years and cherished the friendship of all the other members.
Nancy had a wonderful sense of humor which was often used to make her children and grandchildren laugh. She found immense joy in bringing laughter to others. She was often the life of the party and very much enjoyed family gatherings or any opportunity to spend time with her children or grandchildren. Her laughter was contagious and often hard to control. Nancy had a natural talent for arts and crafts and was extremely skilled at quilting and knitting. She was extremely proud to teach those skills to anyone willing to learn. Nancy has also been known to have some serious rhythm on the dance floor. Her love for Michael Jackson and the moon walk often made her an excellent dance partner. She loved fishing with her sons and watching wrestling. She was known as the fun grammy who could always give her grandchildren a run for their money.
Nancy is survived by her children; Susan Poladian (Greg) of Fresno CA, Robert McGuire (Debbie), Jack McGuire, Mark Hollgarth, John Reynolds all of Macon II, and Tina Maddox of Decatur II. 17 grandchildren; Hollie Reynolds, Misty Schmidt (James), Christian McGuire, Alex McGuire (Aza), Ashley Mercer (Adam), Susan Reynolds, Sara Reynolds, Crystal Assatourian (Ara), Sarkis Poladian, Haley Paul (Ryan), Kirstey Hollgarth, Brittany Cassity, Gage Hollgarth, Steven Tate, Stanley Taylor, Samantha Smelly and Bradley McGuire. 14 great-grandchildren; Karma Tatum, Kenslee Rynolds, Alaina McGuire, Archer McGuire, Axel McGuire, Addie Mercer, Greyson Mercer, Kenzie Rasar, Deja Hollgarth, Coen Cassity, Chance Buckley, Trevor Buckley, Vincent Shane Hill, And Hailyn Heleva Hill. 2 great great-grandchildren; Ky'mere Drake and Logan
The family would like to thank the staff of Decatur Memorial Hospital, the Loft Rehabilitation of Decatur and Pastor Ed Cain for the care and compassion they showed Nancy and her family during this difficult time. The family will be hosting a private celebration of life service.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Jackie Lee Hollgarth; Her parents Ralph and Della Howard; two sons Michael Lee Hollgarth and David Wright; 5 siblings Harry Howard, Ralph Howard, Sandra Reynolds, Diana Blessent and Barbara Cooke.
