Nancy K. Holt, 70, of Decatur, IL, passed away peacefully at her residence with her family by her side. Nancy was born May 28, 1949 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Ira Americus and Edythe Loucetta (Wright) Patrick. She married E Read Obituary
I’ve always said Nancy was my very first friend when we moved to Decatur when I was 6. She and I were friends from grade school through high school, in choir, band, Madrigals, class musicals and pep assemblies together. She was a great friend, always in good humor, loved to laugh and sing. We shared so many things and I will always remember her for being the great friend to me that she was. My sympathies to her family and to all who loved her. She was a treasure.
Many fond and special memories of Nancy, so many to choose from. I am Thankful for that. We always had a special connection over the years and every time we saw each other, Hugs were always given, and tears usually started. I loved Nancy and all the joy she brought in everyone’s life. I will miss her, but I am also thankful and honored to have known her for so many years. Rest now my friend in Gods arms.

Nancy and I were neighbors on Garfield when we were in high school. Her mom and her would pick me up to ride to school with them. She was a great friend, and I have many fond memories of all the Patrick’s I knew. RIP my friend you will me greatly missed. Keeping the family all in my prayers.
Nancy and I were high school classmates but I got to know her better after graduation while we were planning our class reunions. She was always fun, smart, and encouraging. She also went to Wednesday Women and yoga until she got too sick. She was optimistic and always had a smile. She fought hard. I’ll miss her.
