Nancy Rude's Obituary
Nancy Anne Rude, 53, of rural Illiopolis, died at 11:50 P.M. Thursday July 23 at home after a battle with ovarian cancer.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday at Illini Congregational Church, Warrensburg. No formal visitation, but friends may call on the family at the church two hours before the service. Burial will be in Lake Bank Cemetery. Memorials: Illini Congregational Church, Oasis Day Center,

Nancy was born December 5, 1961 in Decatur, the daughter of Thomas and Viola Link. She was a graduate of Richland Community College and attended classes at the University of Illinois at Springfield. Nancy was a dedicated and compassionate social worker for 25 years, and most recently was Director of the Oasis Day Center in Decatur. She was a member of the Illini Congregational Church and was an Associate in the Hospital Sisters of Saint Francis.
Surviving are her husband, John, of Illiopolis; daughters Sarah Pritts (Ryan) of Decatur, Molly of Normal, IL; step-father Lynn Crites (Sue) of Taylorville; brothers Jim Link (Denise) of Cleveland, OH, Barry Crites (Rebecca) of Decatur, Brad Crites (Marjorie) of Springfield, IL; brother-in-law Mark Rude (Jennifer) of Wildomar, CA; granddaughters Marissa and Cassidy Pritts of Decatur; several special aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. She also leaves her beloved pets.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Nancy enjoyed cooking and gardening. Her home was the center for many happy family gatherings. She lived her life by two principles: take care of one another and take care of the Earth.
The family would like to thank Dr. Wade, LeAnn, and all the staff at Cancer Care Specialists; Sandy and the staff of DMH Hospice Care; and Jennifer Norton, who was there for Nancy every step of the way.
