Nancy Josephine Schoonover's Obituary
MOWEAQUA- Nancy Josephine Schoonover, 76 of Moweaqua, passed away peacefully at 10:28 PM Sunday, September 26, 2010 in Decatur Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Services to celebrate Nancy's life will be held at 10 am Friday, October 1, 2010 in the chapel of Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 Thursday evening at the funeral home. Interment with the 'Flight Home' Ceremony will be in Fairlawn Cemetery. Nancy was born on November 13, 1933 in Decatur, a daughter of Josiah Warnick and Jennie Elizabeth (Wheeler) Moffett. She married Harold Eugene 'Gene' Schoonover on January 10, 1952 in Macon County. She was a homemaker and had attended Life Four Square Church.
Surviving are her husband of over 58 years Gene of Moweaqua, son- Rick Schoonover and his wife Mary Lou of Decatur, daughters- Debbie Cherry of Decatur and Bev Damery and her husband Kent of Macon, sisters- Virginia Morse of Mt. Zion, Janet Brozio of Decatur, and Betty Burns of Decatur, grandchildren- Crystal, Kelly, Darin, Craig, Alicia, Josie and Cole and one great granddaughter- Cailah with another expected any day.
She was greeted in Heaven by her parents, and brothers- Willis Moffett and Edward Moffett.
Nancy was a devoted wife, a loving mother and a cherished grandmother and great grandmother. Her trademark was her unselfish love and devotion to serving her family the best way she could. She will be loved and missed by her family and will remain in their hearts forever.
