Nancy C. Waddell's Obituary
Forsyth-Nancy C. Waddell, 77, of Forsyth, went to be with the Lord at 6:36 a.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at Fair Havens Christian Home with her family by her side.
Services to celebrate Nancy's life will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 4, 2010 in the chapel of Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with Pastor William Abbott officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Private family interment will be at Graceland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Pilgrim Lutheran Church. Nancy was born October 10, 1933 in Decatur, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ziemer. She was a graduate of Stephen Decatur High School and Millikin University, where she received her Bachelors of Science. She then attended DMH Nursing Program where upon completion she started her nursing career. She retired from DMH serving as a head nurse, nurse's instructor, and supervisor of nurses after forty-years of service. She was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church and enjoyed reading, drinking coffee, and her dogs. She married James Ray Waddell in February of 1956. He preceded her in death April 7, 1983.
She leaves behind her son; Brian Todd Waddell of Riverton, daughter; Susan Renee` Korich and husband Richard of 0'Fallon, brother; Stanley Ziemer and wife Lucille of Peachtree City, Georgia, sisters; Wanda Tracy of Austin, Texas and Gloria Vyhnalek of L.A., California, grandchildren; Nickolas, Keli, Rachel, Rebekah, James, Claribel, and Jeaneanne, and great-grandchildren; Casey, McKenzie, Bryson, Amaya, Mikayla, and Zachary.
She was reunited in Heaven with her parents, husband, sons, Dirk and Rick, and brothers; Robert and Kenneth.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses and staff at Fair Havens Christian Home and Davita Dialysis for all of their loving care.
