Decatur- Naomi G. McQueen Tomlinson, 87, of Decatur passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Heritage Health in Mt. Zion.
Private family burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to Alzheimer Association, C/O Pamela Zientara 5010 19th Zephyrhills, FL 33542.
Naomi was born February 6, 1926, the daughter of Samuel Day and Lucy (Camp) Day of Decatur. She was a member of Decatur Genealogical Society, past volunteer at senior center at W. Prairie, Vice President of Belvedere Centre Plaza in 1990. She was previously employed with Heinkles, Dr. Reid, secretary with YWCA, cashier and bookkeeper at Decatur Club, and Dr. T.P. Leonard. She married Raymond Tomlinson in Decatur, IL.
She leaves behind her daughter Pamela (Jim) Zientara of Zephyrhills, FL; son Edward McQueen of Phoenix, AZ; sisters Elnora (Harold) Harlin of Decatur, IL; Doris (Edward) Tomlinson of Douglasville, GA, brothers Virgil Day of Decatur, IL; Wayne Day of Decatur, IL; 6 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Robert Joseph McQueen, sisters Helen Merriman, Vivian Shures, Louellen Anderson, Lela McCoy, and brother Ronald Day.
