Nellie Mae Marquis' Obituary
Nellie Mae Marquis, 93, of Decatur, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2013 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Nellie was born November 8, 1919 in Foosland, the daughter of George and Sally Taylor. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and enjoyed spending time at the Macon County Senior Center and Northeast Community Fund where she as a volunteer. Nellie married William E. Marquis on September 24, 1939 and he preceded her in death on December 9, 1994. Also preceding her were her parents, sons, Roger and Rick, four brothers and three sisters.
Nellie leaves behind her son, Duane K. Marquis of Oreana; grandchildren: Amber Marquis of Greenville, SC, and Seth Marquis of Hendersonville, NC; sister, Helen Quick of Sacramento, CA, and brother, Pat Taylor of Kincaid; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm, Wednesday, January 23, 2013, in the Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home. Services celebrating her life will be 10 am, Thursday, January 24, 2013 in the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials: Grace United Methodist Church.
