Nielssine Vaughn, 90, of Maroa, Illinois, passed away peacefully on October 4th, 2025, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, surrounded by her loving family.
Nielssine lived a long, full, and gracious life filled with love, laughter, and faith. She made her home in Maroa and the surrounding area for many years and was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. Her kindness, warmth, and gentle spirit touched everyone who knew her.
She was the proud mother of three children — William Vaughn, Christopher Vaughn, and Stephanie North — who will forever cherish her unconditional love, wisdom, and strength.
Nielssine dearly loved her grandchildren — Zachery Vaughn, Brittany Vaughn, Ryan North, Ashley North, and Cassandra North — who brought her endless joy and filled her days with laughter and pride.
Nielssine cherished her close personal relationship with her daughter-in-law, Robin Vaughn, whose love, care, and companionship meant so much to her. She also shared a lifelong friendship with Louise Hollgarth, whose presence brought her comfort and joy through the years.
Nielssine will be remembered for her beautiful blue eyes and her kind soul, which reflected the love and compassion she shared so freely with others. She had a way of making people feel at home and always found joy in life’s simple moments — a good conversation, a shared meal, or a quiet afternoon spent with family.
A celebration of Nielssine’s life will be held at Graceland Cemetery on October 24th at 1:30 p.m. Family and friends are invited to come together to share memories and honor her remarkable life.
Her love and light will live on through her children, grandchildren, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
