Nina J. Pumphrey's Obituary
Nina J. Pumphrey, 74, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2014 in McKinley Court.
Nina was born June 20, 1939 in Blue Mound, IL, the daughter of Charles E. and Hazel (Whitten) Koontz. She was a member of the Harvest Christian Center, and she loved going to auctions and antiquing in her spare time. She married Wilmer Pumphrey on May 1, 1958 in Chicago, IL. He preceded her in death in 1984.
Nina leaves behind her sons, Rusty Pumphrey of Decatur, IL; Danny Pumphrey of Decatur, IL; daughter, Jayne Marie Pumphrey Pickel of Decatur, IL; brother, Paul Koontz of Washington; sister Emma Lou of California; grandsons, Paul Daniel Pumphrey II; Austin Daniel Pumphrey; Kolton Thomas Pumphrey Stubblefield; granddaughter, Katrina Whitney; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Wilmer; parents; daughter, Tobi; five brothers and four sisters.
Services to celebrate Nina’s life will be 2 p.m. Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be 12 p.m.-2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
