Norma Jean Dant's Obituary
Norma Jean Dant, 79, of Decatur, IL, passed away at 8:24 P.M. on Thursday (12-12-2024) at her home.
Norma Jean was born on August 13, 1945, in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of William Clarence Schmidt and Veronica Dorothy (Rieman) Schmidt. Norma Jean married James Anthony Dasenbrock in Effingham, IL. She then married Chester Dant in Decatur, IL.
Norma Jean was the “Lunch Lady” at several schools in the Decatur School District. She also had worked at Adolph Myers in Decatur, IL. Norma Jean loved to go shopping, dancing, and socializing with people.
She is survived by her children: Timothy L. Foster and wife Cianan of Evans, GA; Angela K. Havron of Decatur, IL; James Dasenbrock and wife Beth of Bloomington, IN; Brian R. Dasenbrock and wife Stephine of Decatur, IL; Tonya Smith and husband William; and Todd W. Dasenbrock of Bedford, IN; nineteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Norma Jean was preceded in death by her parents and both of her husbands.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday (12-23-2024) at Amazing Ministries Church Decatur, IL, with visitation from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the church. The burial will be at Graceland Cemetery.
