Olive B. Twyford's Obituary
Decatur-Olive B. Twyford, 89, of Decatur, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2015 at McKinley Court Care Centre in Decatur.
Olive was born April 21, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Fred and Bernece (Hymes) Hoagland. She was previously employed at Herrin Advertising in Jacksonville and with the Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis, Indiana. Olive was a member of Central Christian Church in Jacksonville and attended Central Christian Church in Decatur. She enjoyed reading, attending free concerts in Indianapolis, flowers, gardening, traveling, and most of all spending time with her family. She married George Twyford December 23, 1944 in Jacksonville, Illinois. He preceded her in death October 29, 1990.
Olive leaves behind her children Linda Hembrough (Gerald), and Donald Twyford (Kathy), brother Donald Hoagland (Kathleen), sisters Frances Cooney and Dorothy Greenlee (Jerald), grandchildren Terry Hembrough (Julie), Suzanne Wallace (Dave), Michael Twyford (Erika), and eight great-grandchildren.
Olive was reunited in Heaven with her parents, husband, brother Harold “Buck” Hoagland, and sister Margaret Crabbe.
Services to celebrate Olive’s life will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Williamson Funeral Home, 1405 Lincoln Ave. Jacksonville, IL, 62650. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Jacksonville. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association.
