Oliver David Elder's Obituary
Oliver "Ollie" D. Elder, 80, of Sullivan, passed away on Friday, May 22, in Mattoon, IL.
Ollie was born February 27, 1946, in Springfield, Illinois, the son of Vernon E. Elder and Ruth E. (Oliver) Elder.
Per his wishes he was cremated and there will be no services. Memorials to Shriner's Hospital for Children, 4400 Clayton Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63110.
He graduated from Sullivan High School in the Class of 1964; Eastern Illinois University in 1968, BS in Business-Accounting; University of Illinois Law School in 1971, Juris Doctor. He was a member of George A. Sentel Masonic Lodge #764, Sullivan and Bloomington Consistory AASR 32°. Ollie practiced law in Sullivan with his Father, Vernon, as a partner at Elder & Elder.
He leaves his children, Shelly (Kevin) England, Craig (Lauren) Elder, and Adam Elder; grandchildren, Kyra England and Landon Oliver Elder; and special friends, Glen & Jane Bolin; Sam Elhoffer; Gary & Debbie Hodges; Greg & Debbie Sanders; and Gary Melvin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jeanne Gaffney, and brother-in-law, Jack Gaffney; father-in-law, Darrell Morrow, and mother-in-law, Pauline Morrow; and rabbit hunting buddy and friend, Bob Webb.
