Decatur-Opal A. Phee, 84, of Decatur Passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at McKinley Court.
A service to celebrate the life of Opal will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with a visitation from 1:30 to the time of service at the funeral Home. Opal was born May 14, 1926 in Decatur, Illinois, the daughter of Charles and Dorothy (Buskirk) Cutler. She was a teacher and a therapist. Opal enjoyed traveling and photography, and was a true lover of nature. She was a member of the National Education Association. She married Ted Phee who preceded her in death.
Opal leaves behind to cherish her memory, sisters; Lorraine and husband Donald, and Alice and husband Harold, both of Decatur, brothers; E. Frank Cutler of Moweaqua, and Bill Cutler and wife Rebecca of Wilder, ID, special niece; Janet Newton of Peoria, nieces; Jackie Phillips, Alice Ely, Susan Hayes, Cheryl Cathcart, Toni Kelly, Carol Berard, nephews; Harold Hayes, Larry Hayes, Mark Cutler, and Phillip Cutler.
She was greeted into Heaven by her husband, parents, and two nephews; Chuck Cutler and baby Mel.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at McKinley Court, and her Hospice workers, especially, Jim and all those who encouraged her.
