Mr. Orville Ray Helm's Obituary
Orville passed peacefully in His sleep on November 28, 2020 at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln, Illinois. He now is in Heaven.
Orville was born on November 17, 1927 in Cerro Gordo, Illinois. He married Shirley Anne Wolfe on February 5, 1950.
He resided in Decatur, Illinois all his married life. Orville was a Lifetime member of the Coachman Caravan Camping Club. He loved to Camp, fish, and hunt.
Orville Leaves behind 4 Daughters: Rita Taylor of Decatur, Illinois Diana, (Charles) Houston of Farmington, Illinois Angela,(Jeffery) Brookman of Smyrna, Tennessee Elona, (Michael) Hardwickof Jacksonville, Illinois. Orville also leaves His beloved Grandkids and Great Grandkids: Natasha (Jeremy) Brown their kids Mia-Noel, Mikah, Destiny, Benjamin and Layla Of Jacksonville, North Carolina; Megan (Josh) Forster Of Jackson, Mississippi; Kayla (Jonathan) Kimball, their Son, William Scott Of Lebanon, Tennessee; Jon-Micheil Ray Brookman Of Smyrna, Tennessee; Nikolas Velchek Of Decatur, Illinois. His loving Wife, Shirley passed in September 2000, Grandson Trevor Taylor in June 2016, His Son-in Law Robert Taylor in March 2020.
Orville loved seeing his Daughters together and all of the grandkids, great grand kids. He also made a point to call his sisters and brothers. He would greet all his nieces & nephews with hugs, smiles and kisses. Orville was a loving Husband, Dad, Grandpa (Papa), Brother, Uncle and Friend. Orville was loved and will be missed.
Orville will be buried on December 4,2020 at 10:00 A.M. With Navy Honors at Graceland Cemetery in Decatur Illinois, Charles Houston will officiate.
