Oscar Turner's Obituary
Decatur- Oscar Oren “Shotts” Turner, 89, of Decatur, died peacefully Friday, July 17, 2009 at McKinley Court.
Family and friends welcome you to a celebration of his life at 7:00 pm Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at McKinley Court Care Facility, 500 West McKinley Avenue in Decatur. Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home is assisting the family with these arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to God’s Shelter of Love in Decatur. Mr. Turner was born on October 9, 1919 in Cisco and was a member of Company B, 130th Infantry regiment, 33rd Division during WWII. He retired from Marvel-Schebler division of Borg-Warner Corp.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years. Helen “Penny” Turner, daughters Kathy Grigsby of Decatur, Tracey Ellmers of Colorado Springs, CO; brother William “Buck” Turner of Decatur, sister Vivian Holly of CA.
