I'm wondering if Owen had a sister whom taught at Mundelein's Lincoln School? If so, she taught us kids up North in the 60's about her brother in the war and we sent a care pkg to him since She got us involved! Our 4th grade became alive! New tv reports on the war were a first for us kids and to know our teacher's brother's was in this was overwhelming! Miss McKorkle was mine & most kids fav teacher & I see siblings of Owen's have passed.. I had the privaledge of talking to her privately in letters and she sent me a letter in a Viet Nam Envelope discussing her brother. I find this all so coincidental, if in fact, they were siblings! Especially since in the late 60's I moved to Decatur -a stone's throw from Macon, never knowing her beloved brother was so close to where I live! Just reading Grayslake/Chicago/teaching,war…made me recall her pride. Could someone please contact Tonya @ [email protected] to tell me if this is the soldier? My sincere condolences to you regardless…The name jumped out to me and it meant so much, I had to write and take a chance. God bless and be with all of you. He sounds like He lead a full life that helped sooo many. Awesome. Job well done. Please, please please contact me. Thank You.
