Pamela S. Mathews' Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Pamela Sue Mathews (Pam) of Decatur, Illinois; born on April 2, 1958. She peacefully passed at home in her sleep on Saturday, January 19, 2019, at the age of 60 years. Pam will be lovingly remembered and survived by her husband Jim Mathews, father Dean Durbin, siblings Bill Purcell Jr., Rachel Chandler and Deanna Durbin. Pam will also be fondly remembered by her three daughters Daphne Bowman, spouse Daren Bowman , Tiffany Christison, Crystal Dennis, and her only son Michael Stinnett. During her life, she was blessed with thirteen beautiful grandchildren, Taylor, Thomas, Ty, Trinity, Madalyne, Alexia , Jeremiah, Kelly, Alex, Elijah, Star, Isaiah, and Josiah. She is preceded in death by her mother Carol Durbin, her daughter Hope Christison and son-in-law Robert Smith. Pam was well known for being a strong-willed woman, who loved life and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Pam was a fighter through and through, she battled breast cancer twice in her lifetime and each time went into remission. Pam dedicated her life to caring for the elderly as a certified nurses aide. Some of her favorite past times were being a grandma, traveling, cooking and her compassion for animals. All family and friends are invited to share in the celebration of her life. The visitation will commence at Noon, at Graceland Fairlawn on Thursday, January 24, 2019. Her final wish, was to be laid to rest next to her youngest daughter Hope Christison.
