Pamila Jean Schmidt's Obituary
Latham – Pamila “Pam” Jean Waters-Marshall-Schmidt, 65, of Latham, IL, passed from this life on Friday March 6, 2020, at 12:33 pm, surrounded by family and friends.
Pam was born the 25th of May 1954, in Quincy, IL, the daughter of Norman Ray Waters and Norma Jean Owens. She married Larry F. Marshall in 1971, they later divorced. She then married Leo C. Schmidt III, the 14th of December 1991.
Pam grew up in Decatur and attended Stephen Decatur High School. As a teen she worked at “The Morgue”. She was proud to be a biscuit maker for Hardee’s, a receptionist/secretary for Stahl’s Furniture and secretary for Rent-A-Center, where she met her husband, Leo.
Pam loved her family always and was so very proud of her children and grandchildren. In summer she loved to garden and, in the winter, took pride in the home canned products she had produced. She was an avid genealogist, spending hours hunting down the long-lost members of her family tree. She is a member of Latham Baptist Church and will be missed by so many.
Pam is survived by her husband, Leo; children: Shannon (Delbert) Koontz of Pana, Elizabeth Marshall of Decatur, Larry “Beau” (Amy) Marshall Jr. of Latham, Timothy (Crystal) Schmidt of Alton; mother, Norma Jean (Ross) Fish of Bingham; one brother in California; grandchildren: Mathew Koontz, William Koontz, Rebekah Marshall, Lyndsey Marshall, Laney Marshall, Lukas Marshall and Jace Schmidt.
