Patricia A. Alexander's Obituary
Decatur-Patricia A. Alexander, 66, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri with her family and friends by her side.
Services to celebrate Patricia's life will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with the 'Flight Home' Ceremony to conclude the service. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday, May 16, 2011 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Barnes-Jewish Hospital Lung Transplant Unit, 1001 Highlands Plaza Dr. West, Suite 140 St. Louis, MO 63110-1337.
Patricia was born July 15, 1944 in Gravel Switch, Kentucky the daughter of Eddie Elmer and Jessie (Bennett) King. She was previously employed as the credit manager at Sears retiring after 30 years of service. She enjoyed playing Bunco, reading, traveling, and especially spending time with her grandchildren. She married Russell Alexander February 29, 1964, in Alexis, Illinois.
She leaves behind Russell, her beloved husband for over forty-seven years, son, Brad Alexander and wife Karen of Cabot, Vermont, daughter, Krista Akers and husband Christopher of Dalton City, brothers, Howard King and wife Kay of Alexis, and Michael Lindberg and wife Cindy of Monmouth, sisters, Alice Patterson of Monmouth, Susan Imler of Galesburg, and Lois Ellis and husband Bobby Jo of Perryville, Kentucky, grandchildren, Rachel, Cody, and Neil, and great-granddaughters, Adrianna and Madylin.
