Patricia A. Brame's Obituary
Decatur – Patricia A. Brame, 89, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2025.
Patricia was born on August 22, 1935, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Kenneth and Viola (Jewell) Lichtenberger.
Patricia loved to garden and would spend countless hours tending the flowers. Hydrangeas, iris, and daylilies were among her favorites and bloomed profusely in all her lovely gardens throughout the years. By her side, whether reading or gardening, were another one of her loves, her numerous pets. Patricia had a particular fondness for cats, and they loved her in return.
Patricia married her first husband (Jerry Harvey) and moved to Chula Vista, California. When her boys were young, Patricia was active in the PTA, neighborhood activities, and was a part-time teacher for the hearing impaired. After her sons married and moved away, she found a rewarding career as a loan officer. After nearly twenty years in banking, she retired and moved back to her hometown of Decatur and married Robert Brame (2004). The subsequent years were spent gardening, enjoying her kitties, and quiet country life on the farm with her husband and family. Robert Brame preceded her in death on March 5th, 2024.
Patricia is survived by her sons: Steven L. (Jennifer) Harvey and Douglas A. (Sheryl) Harvey; granddaughter Laura Harvey; brother David (Cynthia) Lichtenberger, sister Carolyn (Marvin) Rau and sister-in-law Susan Lichtenberger. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson Christopher Harvey and brother Roger Lichtenberger.
Patricia is also survived by her stepdaughters, Pamela (Randy) McMillen and Shiela (Chad) Rappe and grandchildren.
Patricia will be remembered most for her laughter and beautiful smile.
We would like to thank Vonderlieth Living Center for the thoughtful and exceptional care they provided Patricia in the final year of her life.
Celebration of Patricia’s life will be 11 AM (CST), Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. A private family burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, Decatur, IL
