Patrick William Henry "Cowboy" Cyrus' Obituary
Patrick William Henry “Cowboy” Cyrus, 58, of Decatur, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2014, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Patrick was born March 17, 1956 in Canton, New York to William Henry and Bernice Evva (Thompson) Cyrus. He served in the Army from 1975 to 1978. He was an PV2 and E2.
He is survived by his daughter, Malinda Sue Snyder from Moira, NY and his son, Ronald Cyrus of Malone, NY; three grandsons and one granddaughter; one sister, Margaret “Peggy” (Curtis) Smith-Clark of Decatur; and he has uncles, aunts and cousins all in upstate New York. He had a lot of friends, three of great importance to him, Richard Penn “Wolverine”, Nancy Rude and Kathleen Taylor all very close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He used to call himself a Jack-of- all-trades and a master of some. He worked with most of the landlords in Decatur fixing their roofs and siding their houses. He also made jewelry and dream catchers when he could no longer work. He always left people with a lasting impression.
The family would like to thank all the ICU nurses that help with the care in his last days and to hospice for their care too.
Services to celebrate the life of Patrick Cyrus will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 6, 2014, at Grace United Methodist Church in Decatur. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Burial will be at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family to be designated at a later date.
