Patrick M. Bowe's Obituary
Patrick M. Bowe, 56, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2015, in Decatur, IL.
Patrick was born April 30, 1958, in Manitowoc, WI, the son of Howard Andrew and Leona (Koenig) Bowe. Music was a big part of Patrick’s life that spanned generations in the family. He loved writing music in his recording studio. Patrick had numerous bands that he led with lead vocals and guitar. Recently, Patrick started teaching his 7-year old grandson, Nate, guitar lessons which was a very precious moment for him. Patrick was a cancer survivor in 2010, and he loved riding on his Harley. He married Brenda Bivens on February 14, 2009, and they shared many happy memories together.
Patrick leaves behind his wife, Brenda; mother, Leona Bowe of Jacksonville, IL; stepsons, Steven Michael (Amanda) Bivens Jr. of Decatur, IL; Daniel Johnson Bivens of Kuki, Saitama, Japan; Adam Joseph Bivens of Decatur, IL; siblings, Laura (John) Sherrick of Kenosha, WI; Kathy (Michael) Nechvatal of Petersburg, IL; Larry Bowe of Champaign, IL; Dan Bowe of North Royalton, OH; Kelly (Lisa) Bowe in Plainfield, IL; Susan (Chuck) Sadowski of Warrenville, IL; and grandchildren, Nate, Vivi, and Gracie.
He is preceded in death by his father, Howard, and his grandparents.
Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Patrick’s life will be 11 a.m. Thursday, January 22, 2015 at St. Patrick Church, 407 E. Eldorado St., Decatur, with Reverend Roy Bauer, Celebrant. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Patrick may be made to Webster-Cantrell Hall, 1942 E. Cantrell Street, Decatur, IL 62521.
