Patsy June Hamilton's Obituary
Patsy June (O’Dell), (Dorsey) Hamilton, 87 of Washington, IL (formally of Decatur, IL) went home to be with Our Lord on April 21st, 2024.
Patsy was born January 16th, 1937, to Tilmon & Lucille (Syfert) O’Dell in Decatur, IL.
Patsy married the late James R. Dorsey, August 3rd, 1953. They had 5 children, Robert (Maxine) of AZ, Sherry (Dennis) Truman of WA, Timothy (Ofelia) of AZ, Stephen (Karla) of NE and Susan (Suzie) Carbone of IL.
Patsy married the late William H. Hamilton of Decatur, on April 15th, 1995. They were happily married for over 25 years.
Patsy was a beautiful, strong, Christian woman with a heart of gold who loved unconditionally. She always had a smile on her face, a song in her heart and a kind word to everyone she met. She was a friend to many, a stranger to none always greeting others with open arms and a peck on the cheek.
Patsy had an amazing voice and loved to sing. Regardless of circumstance she was always singing and sharing her gift with others. She was a witty woman who loved to laugh and to make others smile. She was extremely talented and could truly do anything. She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed enough to have known her.
Patsy worked at Eastern Star Home in Macon for 25 years as Activity Director where she shared her kindness, talents and creativity, enriching the lives of others.
Patsy is survived by her 5 children, 18 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren who will miss her immensely. Bye-bye for now Our Precious Mama - Grandma Patsy…until we meet again!
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, siblings and both spouses.
Visitation will be held at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home in Decatur, IL from 10:00 - 11:00 AM, Saturday April 27th with service at 11:00 A.M. and interment immediately following at Graceland cemetery. Condolences maybe shared at www.gracelandfairlawn.com
