Paul E. Cannon's Obituary
Pastor Paul E. Cannon, 86, of Decatur passed away on Saturday, April 8 , 2017 in St. Mary’s Hospital.
Paul was born on January 18, 1931 in Gonzalez, LA the son of Thomas E. and Retha H. (Harris) Cannon.
He was a member of Resurrection Life Church. He served many years as a pastor, missionary, and elder. Serving as a missionary in Nigeria, Ghana, Mexico, and Cuba, Pastor of New Hope Church in Muskegon, MI for 31 years, Director of Development in Virginia Beach, VA; and Elder at Resurrection Life Church. He married Mildred Akers on May 1, 1954 in Salem, OR.
Surviving are his wife Mildred; sons, Philip Paul Cannon (Jill) of Decatur; Thomas F. Cannon (Candice) of Romeo, MI; Mark E. Cannon (Ellen) of Madrid, Spain; sister Maggie Lee Campbell of Walker, LA; 10 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and 3 sisters.
Funeral service to celebrate Pastor Paul’s life will be 11 AM Wednesday, April 12, 2017 in Resurrection Life Church, 1085 W. McKinley Avenue, Decatur, IL 62526. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Tuesday in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Resurrection Life Church/missions.
