Paul Denton Carr's Obituary
Decatur-Paul Denton Carr, 84, of Decatur, was called to Heaven Tuesday, January 22, 2013 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Paul was born February 8, 1928, in Decatur, the son of Walter and Freda (Grotjan) Carr. He retired from Mississippi Valley Structural Steel. He was a true family man. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He married Doris Starbody June 23, 1950. They shared sixty-two wonderful years together.
He leaves behind his wife Doris, children Sandy (Jeff) Smarsh of Tucson, AZ, Pam (Rich) Benedict of Elwin, John (Vicki) Carr of Macon, and Lisa (Dale) Marshall of Macon, grandchildren Shane, Stephanie, Rachel, Nolan, Joseph, Daniel, Justin, and Dylan, and great-grandchildren Mackenzi, Taylor, Sage, Bryson, Jerrica, Jayden, Tessa, Brianna.
He was reunited in Heaven with his daughter Suzanne Strocher, two brothers, and one sister.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Brian Yocks and the nurses and staff at Eagle Ridge, Heartland, and Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Services to celebrate Paul's life will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 26, 2013 in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial with 'Flight Home Ceremony' will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to South Macon Public Library.
