Paul Junior Jackson, 89, of Decatur, passed away Monday, October 28, 2019, at Fair Haven Senior Living, in Decatur.
Paul was born January 15, 1930, in Stonington, IL, to William Aaron and Florence Elizabeth (Schrader) Jackson. Paul was baptized at the First Christian Church in Moweaqua. He proudly served in the United States Army and Navy. He received a Bronze Star for his dedicated service. He married Beverly Adkins on September 16, 1998 in Portland, Maine. She passed away October 30, 2009. Paul was a 55 year member and past master of South Macon Lodge 467. He was a roaming Ambassador for Scottish Rites in Springfield, IL. He had dual membership of Iconic Lodge in Decatur #312. He was a 51year member of Operating Engineers #324 of Detroit, Michigan. Paul loved traveling, rocks, marbles and woodworking.
He is survived by his daughter, Connie (Todd Sanderlin) Gilman; two grandchildren, Doug (Savannah) Spellman and Lisa (Daniel) Swarms; his sister, Eleanor Brandenburg; and his dear and faithful friend, Larry Albro.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Beverly; five brothers, Herb, Earl, Raymond, John and Kenneth Jackson; and his sister, Katherine Jackson.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Paul Jackson will be 12 p.m. Friday, November 1, 2019, at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday before the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2019, at Bilyeau Cemetery in Moweaqua. Memorials may be directed to Shriners Hospitals for Children Attn: Office of Development 2900 N. Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607.
