Paul Jurgens' Obituary
Paul Richard Jurgens, “Paulie”, age 67, of Decatur, Illinois died April 12, 2018, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Paul was born in St. Louis, MO. October 24, 1950 to Paul E. Jurgens and Mary Petefish Jurgens. He attended Mt.Zion high school f two years and graduated Wentworth Military Academy. He then attended Murray State University in Peduka, KY. He was a member of Westminister Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are his partner Theresa Spain, mother Mary Jane Jurgens, Alan Jurgens (Debbie Jurgens), Barbara Jurgens, Mary Lou (Greg) Nichols, nephews David Jurgens, Joel Backs, nieces Katie (Ben) Bishop, Janie Backs and 3 great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Paul E. Jurgens.
Paul enjoyed working at Rocco’s and volunteering at the American Legion Hall for the past 20 years. He cared for his father the last 3 years of his life and continued caring for his mother before he entered DMH this past week.
Paul was an avid Cardinals fan and chopping wood and fishing in the north woods was his passion. His laughter will be missed by many.
Services will be held at the American Legion Hall on Saturday April 21, 2018 at 1:00 pm.
