Paul E. Koehler's Obituary
Decatur – Paul E. Koehler, 96, of Decatur, IL, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2024, at Imboden Creek Senior Living.
Paul was born June 11, 1928, in LaGro, IN, the son of John and Alice (Fleck) Koehler. He married Margaret M. Timmerman on May 2, 1954, in Bryan, Ohio. They did many things together, including travel to almost all the states and 35 countries, dancing everywhere. He was very active and loved painting and gardening.
Paul graduated from Purdue University as a civil engineer. He served in the Army Corp of Engineers for 2 years in Korea. After that he worked for the CE & I railroad in Danville, IL. They finally settled in Paris, IL, where he worked for Illinois Department of Transportation until he retired in 1991.
He is survived by his three daughters: Brenda (Michael) Delaney, Diana (John Lake) Vestal, and Alice (Dennis) Myers; seven grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and the love of his life, Margaret.
