Paul Edwin Proctor's Obituary
Decatur – Paul Edwin Proctor, 90, of Decatur, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 3, 2019 in Sullivan.
Paul was born July 22, 1929 in Cerro Gordo, the son of Harold Samuel and Hazel Hester (Richardson) Proctor. An Army veteran of the Korean War, Paul was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He graduated from Cerro Gordo High School on 1947, loved to play softball, gardening and putting up Christmas decorations outside. Paul sold Saladmaster cookware, worked for A.E. Staley’s for 20 and then went to work for Bridgestone/Firestone for 19 years. A loving and kind man to everyone, Paul married Mary David on March 8, 1958 and she preceded him in death in 1998. Paul then married Phyllis (Walker) Hunt is 1999.
Paul is survived by his wife, Phyllis of Decatur; daughter, Sondra White of Decatur; son, Kevin (Frances) Hunt of Decatur; granddaughters: Beverly (Rick) Mayo, Mandy (Brian) Duff, Chrissy (Kerry) Hector and Kimberly (Danny) Roberts; many great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, cousins and friends.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Shane Forbes; great granddaughter, McKenzie Skye Baker; and four brothers.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 8, 2019, from 9 am until the service time of 10 am at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Burial with military rites will take place in Graceland Cemetery.
