Perlie Mae Cunningham, 82, of Decatur went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 9, 2017 in her home surrounded by her family.
Perlie was born on November 4, 1934 in Ripley, TN to the union of Willie Mack Dyson and Julia Pugh. She was a member of God’s Place of Deliverance Church. She enjoyed her children, grandchildren, and running rummage sales. She married Robert Cunningham on November 10, 1953 in Ripley, TN. He preceded her in death on July, 17, 2008.
She leaves to cherish fond memories her sons, Robert Cunningham (Clora); Victor Cunningham (Mary); Keith Cunningham (Coclecia); Calvin Cunningham; Larry Cunningham; Danny Cunningham; Van Cunningham all of Decatur; daughters, Brenda Jarrett (James) of Gates, TN; Stella Hill (Charles) of Decatur; Michelle Capers-Cunningham (David) of Decatur; Robbie Rawls (Jerry) of Decatur; brothers, George Dyson of Mattoon; John Dyson of Decatur; Charlie Dyson of Ripley, TN; Will Dyson of Union City, TN; sisters, Linda Heggie and Anna Thompson both of Ripley, TN; 70 grandchildren, 177 great-grandchildren, 53 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 13 siblings, 6 grandchildren, and 1 daughter Julia Cunningham.
Homegoing service to celebrate Perlie’s life will be12 PM Friday, June 16, 2017 in Life Changers Church, 1305 E. Prairie Street, Decatur, IL 62521. Visitation will be 11 AM -12 PM Friday in the church. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
