Decatur-Perry Lynn Ruthrauff, 48, of Decatur, passed away at 6:05 a.m. Friday, May 07, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital with his family by his side.
Services to celebrate Perry's life will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at Grace Baptist Church, 3770 N. Water, with Pastor Jerry Shirley officiating. The 'Flight Home' Ceremony will conclude the service. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Perry was born July 29, 1961 in Decatur the son of Stephen Ruthrauff and Sharon (Boughers) Van Meter. He was previously employed in sales. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church and the #1 member of the Potsy Brothers. He enjoyed music, spending time with his friends and family, and riding his motorcycle. Perry was always willing to lend a helping hand. He married Kathy March 15, 2001.
He leaves behind his wife Kathy, son; Nick Ruthrauff, mother; Sharon Van Meter and husband Maynard, stepdaughter; Nikki McKee and husband Jerry, granddaughter; Faith McKee, sisters; Stefanie Ruthrauff Shaffer and husband Tim and Cris Ruthrauff Hart and husband Doug, brothers; Terry Ruthrauff and Lee Michael Cumberworth and wife Tiffany, nephews; Alex Watts and Jacob Hart, the Potsy Brothers, and many friends.
He was reunited in heaven with his grandparents, father, and nephew Andrew Shaffer.
The family is forever grateful to Perry's sister Stefanie for donating her kidney to extend Perry's life and special thank you to all of the Doctors, nurses, and staff for all of their compassionate care.
