Philip B. Crist's Obituary
Decatur-Philip B. Crist Sr., 91, of Decatur, passed away Monday, September 15, 2014 at Heartland of Decatur.
He was born August 1, 1923 in Vona, Colorado, the son of Alva and Ethyl (Duncanson) Crist. He proudly served is country in the U.S. Army 42nd Rainbow Division in Germany and Italy during World War II. He retired from A.E. Staley Manufacturing Company in 1988 after forty years of service.
He leaves behind his sons Gary Crist Sr. of Salina, Kansas and Philip B. Crist Jr. and wife Linda of Decatur, grandchildren Bess Crist of Colorado, Majorie Taylor and husband Sam of Mississippi, Kim Crist of Decatur, Ryan Crist and wife Sheri of Idaho, Chad Crist and wife Heidi of Kansas, Bradley Holmes of Kansas, and Gary Crist Jr. and wife Narley of Colorado, and ten great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Majorie, second wife Phyllis, daughters Phyllis Thompson and Marsha Wright, brothers Leon, Cecil, and Heron, and sister Elizabeth.
Honoring Philip’s wishes cremation services will be provided by Graceland/Fairlawn Crematory. Graveside services at a later date will be held in Mound City, Missouri.
