Rae Michele Blankenship's Obituary
Rae Michele Blankenship, 56, of Decatur, went peacefully to be with the Lord on August 10, 2020, at St. Mary’s Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Rae was born November 30, 1963, in Decatur, to Charles F and Carol A. (Cooley) Blankenship. She was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. She loved going camping and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her mother, Carol Cooley;her step-mother, Jean Blankeship; her son, Ryne A. Neeley; her brothers, Terry (Tresa) Blankenship and Larry Blankenship; her sisters, Dawn Hedgpeth and Lynnette (Dean) Hanson; many cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father; her uncle Jim Cooley and her aunt Nancy Boliek.
The family would like thank all the compassionate doctors and nurses both at St. Mary’s Hospital and Decatur Memorial Hospital; and all the nurses, CNA’s and staff at Villa Clara.
The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life Service for Rae at 12 p.m. on Friday, August 14, 2020, at Resurrection Life Church 1085 W McKinley Ave, Decatur, IL 62526. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery at a later date.
