Ralph Smith's Obituary
Ralph Smith, 80, loving Son, Husband, Father, Grandfather, departed from this earth to be with his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, October 30, 2024.
Ralph was preceded in death by his mother Betty and father Willard, brothers Steve, Jeff and sister Judy.
He leaves behind his loving wife Marti of 36 years, one brother Rob Thompson of Missouri. Children: Bryon, Julie of Oreana, Kevin of Arkansas, and Mark of Blue Mound; 18 grandchildren, multiple nieces and nephews.
Ralph served his country in the United States Army with dignity and respect for 4 years. He was employed by A.E. Staleys – Tate and Lyle Decatur, IL. His employment there ended during the Lock Out in 1993. He became an over the road driver for Schneider Trucking. He was then employed by Morgan Distributing until retirement.
Ralph enjoyed riding his Harley with his wife, dressed in leather and Chaps. This was their most favorite past time. Ralph also moonlighted as a Bartender at the Decatur Moose Lodge for a short time. He was the proud owner of the First Bullet Mustang in Decatur, Illinois.
Ralph enjoyed life to the fullest extent. His Family and Friends will miss him dearly.
A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, November 8, 2024, at Graceland Cemetery, Decatur, Illinois.
Flowers, Condolences, and Contributions will be accepted by Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home.
